“Regroup and Refocus”
What came to me as I saw this was, “What is the definition of “RE?”:
So I looked it up and this is what I found:
“In the matter of (used typically as the first word in the heading of an official document or to introduce a reference in an official letter)”…what I thought immediately was “referring to”specifically referring to our relationship with taking and honoring the time to go inward, hence to “regroup and refocus”….and then so many other words came flooding in including: Reflect, replenish, rejuvenate, and (comically) retire!
As women, and I imagine you can relate to this, we can tend to be easily distracted and with so much pulling at us, even when we get focused, we can easily get swayed out of that commitment, resulting in feeling overwhelmed, frayed and perhaps resentful for feeling deflated and depleted once again.
It is vital that we take the time…make the time and honor the importance of going inward on a regular and cyclical basis so that we can be the best we can be for ourselves and then for others. (Not the other way around ladies! 😉
And we don’t need to wait to “retire” (lol), or when the kids go off to college, or when this or that comes around the bend.
I say this with love and humor, that if any of you as you read this hear the inner dialogue say, “Oh, I know this already” or “That is not for me” or, ‘Yes, I hear yasista!”, then read on!
So interesting as I am remembering how I continuously, and I kid you not, 5 days in a row pulled the card in my Goddess Oracle Deck of “Maeve” which represents the “Cycles and Rhythms” and to be honoring of this rhythm. This occurred this past week prior to sitting down to writing this article.
I wondered what was asking to be expressed and shared by the Divine Feminine and now I know.
So here we go sistas! …What has is that society has been running for so long from the Principles of the Masculine, there has become an imbalance of inflow and outflow.
The Masculine is all about the outflow…get things done, achievements, accomplishments, pushing through, status, going after something in an aggressive “get out of my way” bulldozer way of doing things.
It is the “Yang”, the sun, the blasting through aspect where the
Feminine is the inflow, “Yin”, the moon, the introspective and inward aspect. It is the softer way of flow, trust…ALLOW, receive, reflect and ultimately…surrender.
When we are in balance, we are in flow. We are in focus and we are in community. All of our needs are met and we have clarity versus, a sense of confusion. We can rest in the space of relaxation and know all is exactly as is to support me, verses “I must make this happen now” or it won’t get done.
I address all of this because when we don’t allow ourselves the times to be in the inflow: The space and place of “regrouping and refocusing”, we are not honoring 90% of who we truly are as a woman…a Sacred being of the Divine incarnated as the feminine.
We become refueled and replenished when we regroup and refocus and this is important time. Society can make us feel that we are selfish or lazy when we are not always in the doing. Ladies, this is a falsity that strips us from our power resulting in us functioning at only 10% of out greatness. What a disservice to the world, if we give in to this.
Below are some juicy, tangible tips to implement into your daily life and then on an ongoing quarterly basis so that you are always on your throne as the Queen you inherently are, versuss the damsel in distress needing to be saved or not allowing anyone to support you.
When you know your needs, you can claim that, ask support to allow that to happen and rule your castle and all your loved ones in it with heart and from a cup that is “runneth” over. From this place, witness your life be a world of magic, miracles, fulfillment and divine timing.
Daily rituals to support you:
I suggest picking 1-3 and the ones that work for you can change over time. Your intuition will tell you which is the right practice(s) for you in the moment.
Morning Pages: Every Morning before you begin your day, journal 3 pages and just unload. Allow it to flow without judgement or attempting to write about something.
Sitting Meditation: I am personally in love with this one. Our relationship to self is the most important one to nourish and from this place we are always in our power as a women.
Ideally, if you can create an altar for yourself and sit on the same pillow or meditation blanket, the energy accumulates over time and assists you in “dropping in”
Let go of “how long” you sit for…Even if you begin at 5 minutes a day. Consistency is the key: just be and breathe.
Note: Added benefit: The BEST anti-aging thing you can do. When you meditate, you literally stop the aging and turn back time.
Daily Intention Setting:So simple, powerful and profound:
Can be done after meditating if that is one of your practices.
Simply state, “My intention for today is______” wait and listen to what comes to you.
It can be as sweet as “Inner Peace”, or “going with the flow, “breathing more” “being more compassionate”
I recommend what I call, “Container Intentions” that hold a space for the flow of unfolding what is in your highest and best, versus the tangible, “I will do this or that today”
Also, the intention will feel good to you. It will warm your heart and bring our a desire in you to be more of that quality.
Oracle Card Reading/ Pulling Cards/ Connecting with Your Guides:
Make sure no one else touches your cards and keep them in a sacred place. All decks have instructional booklets on how to use them.
Any metaphysical or Spiritual Center that has a bookstore will sell them or you can easily go on “Amazon.com”
Allow your intuition to guide you on which decks you want to play with. I personally love Doreen Virtue.
Conscious/ Sensual Eating: Instead of being on the go or standing while eating, place your hands over your food prior to eating, say a blessing out loud of gratitude for the bountiful meal upon you and savor each bite, feeling the texture, smell, and experience of all the bursting tastes that are popping and unfolding with each bite.
This practice will surely have you be at a healthier weight as well if that has been struggle for you or if you are an emotional eater.
Quarterly Support Practice:
Pie Chart:Create a “Pie Chart” and include the following of your self- care needs. I invite you to be in this practice quarterly and be in the flow of what you need to be your best. This is the most unselfish act you can practice!
Remember when your cup is runneth over, everyone in your “Queendom” benefits including you!
Btw, this is not about how much time you think you have to “fit it in”, this is about “dropping in” to what you really need, not what you think you need, or enough to get by.
Remember ladies, a Queen ALWAYS places herself first in order to rule her Queendom with heart versus resentment. (With graciousness and heart, versus, “Off With their Head” attitude J
How much Sleep Do you Need:
What time are you in bed by?( Each hour prior to midnight, has the restorative quality of 2 hours of sleep)
How much exercise do you need?
Length of Time
How many days a week
ie: Healing sessions, working with spiritual mentor, bodywork, spa time, etc
Connection with Sistas!
Intimate Time with your Partner (if you are with one) or with yourself
(If you are not with a partner, I suggest ordering on line or going to an Adult Store if you don’t have any sex toys as it is very healthy for a women to experience pleasure and know her body and honor your core essence of your sensual and sexual beingness (This is a bigger conversation ladies!…Juicy!)
Time in Nature/ Creative Arts/ Expression:
Ie: Painting, Singing, Dancing, Pottery, Writing, Poetry, Hiking, Gardening, etc
Community Time/ Soul Nourishment:
Ie: Spiritual Center Service, Church, Synagogue, etc.
Ie: Shopping, entertainment, movies, theater, concerts, favorite TV shows
Ie: Long yearly or bi- yearly trips, shortweekend getaways
Time To Grow:
Ie:Personal Growth Events, Seminars, Retreats, Business Events, etc.
